Blood Awakening By Jamie Manning book blast

My name is Jamie and I am a writer.

I've always wanted to be a writer (like most writers, I'm sure) but not until the last few
years have I taken it seriously (after I read a tiny, unknown book called Twilight). I was
always told growing up that I had to get a job and take care of myself, so I pushed my
dream of writing a book to the back of my mind and entered the workforce. Fast-forward
many, many years and here I am, trying to make a go at it.

I stumbled across Blogger in 2010 and my world of writing exploded. I have met (via the
web) so many amazing writers and industry professionals and book bloggers that have
passed on their wisdom and experience and successes and failures. So many, in fact,
that I have no excuse to sit down and write out the stories living in my head. Which is
what I'm now attempting to do.

I enjoy reading more than most other things (well, except maybe for writing. And TV. No
way am I giving up my TV) . I attempt to write YA (paranormal and dystopian) and I love
it.

Blood Born, book one in The Blood Prophecy trilogy, was released by Pendrell Publishing April 24, 2012. Book two, Blood
Awakening, is coming April 2013.

Cover Reveal; Sliver of Hope by Karla J Nellenbach

Before I reveal the cover here is the Blurb for a Sliver of Hope

My twin sister was the only person in the world I thought I’d known inside and out. Apparently, I was wrong.

Twin sisters share a unique bond, one that can't be broken by miles, time, or even death. Hannah and Hope Morton are no exception. When Hope takes her own life, Hannah loses a sister and a best friend, a catastrophe she isn't sure she'll survive herself.
With her family in ruins, Hannah is slowly disappearing, drowning in a sea of misery. Even her wild, energetic best friend can't pull her out of her grief. Desperate to help Hannah, her brother comes home from college, bringing his best friend Julian along, the first boy to break Hannah’s heart. None of their efforts are enough to pull Hannah off her self destructive path, though. Julian is the only one who can get through to her, working his way into her frozen soul with cocky remarks and genuine love that warms her from the inside out.
As Hannah works to find answers, she continues to uncover new secrets and people that reveal a side of Hope she had never shared with her twin. Alone now, Hannah must make a decision of her own: move on and start a new life with the people she has left, or let the weight of her grief drag her down with her sister.

If that hasnt got you hooked check out the cover

Isn't it gorgeous?

Author Bio

Karla J. Nellenbach divides her time between dayjobbing, writing, and indulging in her Winchester obsession.  The rest of her day is spent playing butler to a cranky old man masquerading as a housecat and two rambunctious puppies that closely resemble small horses.

Born and raised in the wilds of Michigan, she knows two immutable facts: (1) it is entirely possible to live in a thumb, and (2) you definitely can go home again…you just might not survive the winter.  Having resided in the sunscape of Florida for the last decade, she’s still on a quest to see a real live alligator outside of the “petting” zoo.

Karla is currently at work on her next novel.

River's Recruit (Sanctuary #1) by Charlotte Abel

Jonathan McKnight lost everything in Afghanistan. His left hand, his identical twin and his self-respect. He searches for redemption during a solo backpacking trip into the remote Sawatch Mountains of Colorado and discovers a secret tribe of shifters.

River, the beautiful young shifter that rescues Jonathan from certain death, wants to recruit him. He is equally determined to rescue her from her cult-like society — even if he has to kidnap her.

My thoughts

I am already a fan of Charlotte Abel's books so I had high expectations when I picked this book up. and I was not disappointed in the slightest. My initial reaction when I finished was... Wow... Just Wow. I loved this book from the first page, and really struggled to put it down.

River is one of my favourite female characters, she is so naive to the world of "outsiders" and the effect she as on Jonathan but she is a strong woman and will not be intimidated no matter the challenge she faces.

I Loved Jonathan too, he is determined to rescue River from what he believes is a cult society weather she wants to be or not. He as suffered the loss of his Identical twin brother, a loss he struggles to deal with everyday, he doesn't want to lose River too. as his feelings for River grow so does his determination to rescue River

I loved the whole shifter story too and the unique way in which the author as found for the community of New Eden to shift.

River is expected to court Eli who's only interest in River is so that he can advance his political career and free the woman he loves from a sentence that for most women would be worse than death.

I cant think of anything bad to say except I have to wait for the next in the series. The end left me gaping at the book like a monkey as if I expected words to magically appear on my Kindle.

I now have two books by Charlotte Abel that I cant wait to get my hands on The next in the Channie series and the next in the Sanctuary Series

1.       When Jack was five years old, he managed to get stuck between the washing machine and the dryer.

2.       Jack and his twin sister, Jessica, used to be extremely close until he was forced to go to the States for his own safety.

3.       Jack’s known about his father’s philandering ways since he was quite small, and was asked to keep them secret.

4.       Teasing people and pretending to be a happy-go-lucky sort of guy is the perfect way for Jack to deal with his parents’ problems.

Author Bio

Marilyn Almodóvar is the author of a series of YA paranormal novels. Born in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, Lyn is a lover of words whose reading tastes range from Victorian novels to the books of Stephen King. Her favorite past-times have always been reading and writing, two activities that let her escape to other worlds.

It was this love that propelled her to choose Theater and French as majors in University, with a minor in English Victorian Literature. Lyn lived for almost a decade in England followed by three years in France before returning home to the States. A self-confessed citizen of the world, she is fluent in English, French and Spanish, with basic knowledge of the Italian language.
Lyn could happily exist breathing the clean air of Narnia, trapped in a cupboard under the stairs with Harry, fighting alongside Captain Jack Sparrow, doing an internship in Torchwood, or traveling around time and space with the Doctor…as long as she can have Mr. Spock, Captain Kirk and Captain Mal as companions.
Lyn currently lives in Central Florida with her French husband, English-born eldest son, and French-born youngest son. Her debut YA Novel, Interred, was published by Iambe Books on 01/22/2013. Fissure (Chronicles of the Interred #2) is scheduled for release on 06/22/2013.
